Spikenard Essential Oil : Origin & Uses

Spikenard is in the valerian group of essential oils with several qualities just like Valerian, a not so good oil in smelling. In ancient time, people used spikenard for fragrances, medications, skin tonic, and as a feelings increaser. It was regarded one of the holy oil for the use of rich people. It was used it in the preparation of one of the most recognized fragrant oils of the first millennium.

Spikenard oil is used mainly for controlling the neurological system. It is helpful for a fast and infrequent heartbeat. Its antispasmodic qualities help intestinal action and therefore helps sickness, and abdominal intestinal colic. It is advised for piles, and complications. It is known for its ability to help sensitive skin reactions, and is used for injuries that will not cure. Spikenard relaxes the heart and forms the feelings. There is an acquired taste in the perfume of spikenard. Many are repelled by it because of its likeness to valerian which odors like unclean footwear to a lot of people. Spikenard oil can be used on location, consumed, used on the head and feet also. Non-irritating Spikenard is non-toxic, and non-sensitizing also.
